on Wed, 09/03/2014 - 11:49

At Wellspring we are so very fortunate to have amazing volunteers who give their time often and generously. They assist us to carry out our mission every day and we simply could not achieve half of what we do without their unwaivering support. Each year we honor one volunteer who has gone above and beyond.

Volunteer of the Year - Margaret Pennington

Margaret Pennington has been a dedicated Wellspring board member for a decade. She served as Chair during several key developments; the opening of the second Crisis Stabilization Unit, the David J. Block Center, the opening of the Wellspring Bridge Apartments and the transition in leadership from the agency’s founding Executive Director to the current CEO.  Margaret is always ready to assist in any way possible. She can be counted on to help with fundraising, client events, and staff support. Her strong reputation as a leader in mental health has strengthened Wellspring’s reputation across the Commonwealth. Margaret’s long commitment to improving the lives of persons with mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and intellectual disabilities has benefitted the many clients served by Wellspring as well as many others across Kentucky.
